Objectives of the Project

Specific objectives of the ABME project include:

  • Expose youths to information and knowledge sources on the internet
  • Enlighten youths on types of media bias and how to identify them
  • Engage youths in critical analytical skills for meaningful discernment among multiple information sources and types on the internet
  • Empower youths for citizen journalism involving the creation and confident communication of news items
  • Equip youths with required netiquette and appropriate media usage

Eligible Participants

  • young people between 16 and 27 years of age
  • ready to acquire knowledge about and improve tolerance of different cultures and lifestyles
  • socially receptive who could engage in healthy conversation on gender equality with other participants
  • able to work in a team or willing to learn teamworking
  • willing to embark on stipulated activities from the preparation stage of the exchange up to the organisation of post-project follow-up activities
  • able to communicate in English, as all the activities will be in English. However, a basic level may be accepted as well, with the help of the team leader's mediation
